Our advanced referrals service is available to all pet owners. We are happy to provide a second opinion and affordable treatment or surgery for more complex health issues and injuries. You can remain with your current vet for all your pet's other care, we are here to support them and you with an affordable referral care alternative.

How to arrange a referral with Animal Trust
We are able to offer referral services from many of our sites, however the majority of referrals will be directed to our 24/7 hospitals in Ellesmere Port, Bolton and Shrewsbury
If you usually use a veterinary service other than Animal Trust, you are still welcome to use our referral services, it is simple and straightforward to do, just ask your vet to refer your pet to us using our online form on our website. We’ll then contact you to arrange a consultation, to review your pet's full clinical history, examine them and discuss treatment options.
You are not obliged to join Animal Trust long-term, we are happy to discharge your pet back into the care of your usual vet, once they have recovered from any treatment or surgery.

How to prepare for your appointment
Please arrive at least ten minutes before your appointment time.
Your pet may need to be fasted before your appointment, but we will advise when you book your appointment. If fasting is necessary, please don’t feed your pet after 10pm the night before your appointment. Your pet can still drink, so make sure fresh water is available at all times. If your pet is less than 6 months old, has special requirements or is diabetic, please ask a member of our team for advice.
If your pet is receiving prescribed medication, follow the medication plan as normal, and bring the medication to the appointment with you unless we advise otherwise.
It is important that you bring your pet to your appointment, as the person responsible for decision-making, we need to ask you detailed questions about your pet’s history, discuss your pet’s treatment.
If you are delayed on your way to the practice, for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can offer your appointment to another pet.
