Inpatient Service and Investigations Package
Whether your pet needs pain relief following a planned operation or treatment for a severe illness, Animal Trust provides inpatient care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in our regional hospitals.
Keeping your pet hospitalised at the Animal Trust means the same high standard of low-cost care without the extra fees and additional stress that would be incurred with an external out-of-hours provider.
Hospitalisation and Investigations for Sick Patients

This includes: Up to 48 hours of vet-led inpatient care and checks (longer hospitalisation periods will incur further charges) In-house blood and urine tests X-rays Ultrasound Intravenous fluid therapy Injectable medications (such as pain relief, antibiotics, anti-sickness etc.) Oxygen therapy Feeding tubes (for nutritional support if your pet is not eating) Not every pet will need all these tests/medications, and we will never subject a pet to unnecessary procedures. We aim to update owners at least twice daily on your pet’s progress, test results, and treatment plans.
*Please note that this package is designed to cover the most commonly utilised investigations and medications. However, individual cases may require additional or specific care that falls beyond the scope of this package. Your vet will discuss this with you.
Our Hospitals.
The hospitals are staffed 24/7 by dedicated teams of experienced inpatient vets and nurses, many of whom have further qualifications in internal medicine and emergency care. There are separate air-conditioned wards for dogs and cats and an isolation unit for infectious patients. Cosy bedding and orthopaedic mattresses are provided for maximum comfort, and pheromone diffusers are used to reduce stress. The wards are close to our operating rooms and imaging suites, reducing movement around the hospital and allowing smooth recovery from anaesthetics.
All patients undergo regular assessment of vital signs, administration of medications and intravenous fluids, monitoring of pain levels and management of wounds. Nutrition is tailored to patient requirements and specialist food can be administered via feeding tubes for pets who are unable to eat. Cats are provided with shelters in case they choose to hide away, and dogs are walked regularly in our enclosed on-site gardens.
