Meet Seren, a 7-year-old Bichon Frisé. Seren developed a large mass on the right side of her face and her owners brought her into Animal Trust Wrexham to have it checked. The mass developed rapidly and grew even more while waiting for test results. Tests suggested it was benign, but the size of the mass was causing her discomfort.
Seren was referred to Dylan, our European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, at our Ellesmere Port referral centre. After a successful surgery, which included a complex axial pattern skin flap reconstruction, Seren has made an amazing recovery!
Now, three weeks post-op, Seren is back to her happy self, and we’re happy to confirm that the mass was not malignant – meaning the surgery likely cured Seren!
